How you can help

We recruit and train volunteers, who are usually parents themselves, to visit families at home. They offer informal, friendly and confidential support. Home-Start volunteers are of all ages and from all walks of life. They are caring and committed, and usually visit one family for however long the help is needed.

We always need new volunteers and our volunteers are always parents because Home-Start's ethos is that parents supporting other parents is a simple idea that works. We support our volunteers with ongoing training and regular supervision. Our volunteers give approximately 2-3 hours a week of their time and their expenses are paid. We usually run two training courses a year; do contact us if you feel you could give your time to help local families.

Our 'Friends of Home-Start Erewash' is now assisting in fundraising through local initiatives and are always on the look out for contributions in terms of time or to support events.

Our Board of Trustees oversee the management and direction of the scheme and require a wide range of skills to ensure that scheme is run to the highest possible standards.

If you wish to support our work financially, donations from individuals or groups are very welcome and in these difficult times becoming more and more essential.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a volunteer, a trustee or supporting us financially, please contact us.
