Volunteer

Home-Start Erewash's home-visiting volunteers come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all are either parents themselves or have experience with families. They are carefully selected for their friendliness and understanding and attend a compulsory 28 hour preparation course (seven 4 hour sessions), undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide two references before being matched with a family. 

Volunteers then take their own individual skills and experience to the families they visit. Our volunteers offer their time and commitment and are non-judgmental.
