Membership of Home-Start Erewash
Who can be a member?
Home-Start Erewash welcomes members from both individuals and organisations who share our vision to empower communities, reach families and lead change.
We want to give ownership back to the community by giving them a voice to influence our service.
We aim to have members from a broad base to form a support for Home-Start Erewash.
With such a wide membership, particularly of organisations and workers concerned with the young children, Home-Start Erewash can act as a forum for discussion about family welfare.
Membership is open to:
- Interested individuals accepted into membership by the management committee.
- Voluntary organisations, and statutory bodies whose objects include those which are consistent with Home-Start.
The Trustees welcome members from the following:
Families - As the organisation exists for the families, they are invited to become individual members for the duration of their support from Home-Start Erewash. They may wish to stay a member when support has ended.
Individual Members - Anyone who is congruent with the aims and objectives of Home-Start and wishes to support the scheme.
Volunteers - Volunteers are invited to become individual members. They are welcome to remain as members when they cease volunteering.
Group Members - Membership is open to any voluntary, statutory or private group who wish to become members. The group would need to nominate a person to represent them at meetings and receive communications from the scheme.
Membership is open to any individual or organisation interested in promoting the objectives of the charity, which are:
- To safeguard, protect and preserve the good health, both mental and physical of children and parents of children
- To prevent cruelty to or maltreatment of children
- To relieve sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents of children
- To promote the education of the public in better standards of childcare within the area of Erewash and its environs.
How does a person/organisation become a member?
Members must sign to indicate consent to becoming a member. The application informs the member of their responsibility to pay £1 towards the debts of Home-Start Erewash if it closes due to insolvency.
Members are accepted by the Trustees
Trustees may decline an application for membership if they feel that the member’s application is prejudicial to the ethos of the organisation.
